Nicholas studied voice and piano at Trinity College of Music and is a Wolfson award winner. Initially a member of the Swingle Singers, Nicholas made his operatic debut at the Royal Opera in Palestrina and at English National Opera as Angelotti (Tosca) with Sir David McVicar. His forty roles span Opera and Music Theatre and include Don Giovanni, Figaro, Alfonso, Colline and Escamillo. He has sung for the Opera National de Paris, Scottish Opera, Opera North, English National Opera, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opera de Nantes and English Touring Opera. Most recently, he has sung Alfonso (Cosi Fan Tutte) for Opera Holland Park; Count Carl Magnus-Malcolm (A Little Night Music); Anthony (Sweeney Todd); Max (The Sound Of Music) for Théâtre du Châtelet and returns to the Châtelet next season to sing Jigger (Carousel) and the Boatman in Sunday In The Park With George.
